..no news is good news?

i so suck at time management. i'm sure things of note have happened, i've just completely failed to notice them.

though i do recall walking home from work the other day and seeing a woman in gucci trackies running down the street pinching her nose and looking thoroughly unhappy with the world, and i thought, "woman, if you object to your smell that much, maybe you should invest in good deodorant instead of blowing all your savings on designer trackies.."

come to think of it, it's entirely possible that she was pinching her nose to stem a flow of blood or snot since she wouldn't have been carrying tissues due to designer tracksuits not including something useful like maybe POCKETS.

Monday 9th July

why is it that when you go to the supermarket, no matter how big a shopping bag you bring, you always end up with just enough NOT to fit in the bag?

okay, so this doesn't happen to me every time, just when i let my brother tag along on a trip to Safeway :p

i intended to buy corned beef, bread, and a can of tomato soup. what i ended up getting was corned beef, multigrain bread, tomato soup, packets of cup-of-soup so that my brother could replace dad's stuff that he took to drink, a madeira cake, 3 boxes of arnott's shapes, a box of choc chip cookies, a box of frozen chicken nuggets, double-brie cheese, two cans of microwave macaroni, and two litres of orange juice.

i forgot to buy some more conditioner for my hair, and as a result, my hair still smells like disgusting fig, because the stupid effiging fig-scented conditioner is all i have left at home..

Sunday 8th July

primary school pseudo-reunion! 15 asians that i hadn't seen for, like, 15 years. how appropriate. since we were all asians, we had yum cha -_-"

faces i remembered (once glasses were removed), faces i didn't remember (sorry, Kev, but you must have changed a hell of a lot), and faces that just made me go "huh?" even when names were revealed.

people are married, people have fiancés, people have partners, people have babies, people have moved out of home, people have jobs with Big Important Titles.. ahahahaha, i'm such a loser :Þ i'm still living with my parents, sleeping in a bunk bed, hoarding books and playing computer games and taming budgies that refuse to be entirely tame.

but we reminisced about the fun that is the original Carmen Sandiego and Logowriter (who else remembers the little green turtle?) on the classroom apple macs. and playing four-square. oh gawd, four-square. i don't even remember how that's supposed to go.

i forgot to give michelle the snoopy badge that i bought for her as a joke.. that was the disappointment of the day.

after we went our separate ways, i hung around the city for a bit and bought some asian snackies from Dragon Boat to take home for afternoon tea. yay for custard egg tarts and mar-jai honey sponge cakes and little chicken pies. in hindsight, i should have bought more, because the males of the family have already consumed 2/3 of everything.. i'm lucky to have gotten half a chicken pie -_-"

Saturday 7th July

big fat happy mega shopping day with cazza and mare! we went to chaddy, because it seemed logical that if we were going to spend a full day shopping we might as well do it all in the one place.

started off with breakfast at the pancake parlour. we shared a Country Breakfast and Traditional Bacon & Eggs with lots of hash browns. crunchy potato goodness, mmm. i was so happy. pancakes, bacon, eggs and fried potato, what more could you want in a brekky? well, maybe some real orange juice. so i had that too ^-^

suitably stuffed full, our first stop was Borders, which may have been a mistake as i was horribly tempted to buy $80 worth of books then and there.

the rest of the day was a blur but i do remember being momentarily tempted by cuddle pillows and frighteningly expensive Alannah Hill clothes, stopping by at Diva, and pondering the large range of jewellery and accessories at Myer.

oh, and i snuck back to buy two more manga books from Borders before heading home.

please, nobody tell my mother.
