Mum's home! Hurrah! She pulled some fun things out of her suitcase for me.
1. Fat pants from Thailand.
2. March of the Penguins VCD (Canto Version).
3. Joey Yung's 2005 Concert DVD
4. Kelly Chen's 2005 Concert DVD
5. Plastic cutlery from the plane
6. Boxes of pretz sticks

My only regret is that she didn't bring back any Pingu stuff.

Bumped into Tyrone the soccer-freak in Borders during lunchbreak.
..Soccer-freak because Tuesday is his only night off - no soccer.
..Freak because he was wearing a black suit & neon-orange tie.
..And he only buys books when they're marked down. (Cheap tosser ^-^)

Apparently we're playing his team again on Thursday.

Some arty-looking bloke wandered into the newsagents today, and bought a $10 phone card.

Ten minutes later, he wandered back, hovered around the counter awhile, told me he thought I was very beautiful, and ambled off again.

I was left mildly bewildered.



Tuesday 25th April

Have firm belief that 6th uncle is barmy.

Was asked by said barmy uncle why I didn't love my brother.

"???" I responded.

"You don't introduce him to girls," was the explanation.
But the girls I know are my age.

"Surely they have younger sisters?"
Well, actually, no, they're all either only children or have brothers.

"You should have more concern for your brother!"

So said the man who mistakenly believed I was dating a girl.

Life would be easier if you could pick who you loved

A lot has happened since I last sat myself down at the computer and blogged.

Monday 13th March

Went to see the 2nd rehearsal for Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony, just because of Dad.

Didn't get home till 2am. Train carriage full of tossers.


Tuesday 14th March

Ricky-budgie died, early in the morning. Somewhere between 2am and 7am.

He was three years old.

Buried him in the backyard when I came home from work.


Wednesday 15th March

Went to Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony. Watched Dad get his 2-seconds of fame as his big big shiny head managed to get in the bottom corner of the camera shot.

Brother reported a few phone calls that night from family friends ringing to say "I saw your dad's dome on TV!"


Thursday 23rd March

Mags, Chris & Will's graduation. Ran into Anna & Greggie. Took photos. Held stuff.


Friday 24th March

Got fed up with Nattie-budgie's biting & mourning. It's no fun to watch the remaining budgie going insane.

Bought a new budgie to keep him occupied.

A little blue feathery thing called Zeke. Is mottled, like a sky-turtle.

Also spirited, feisty and warm. Has a little budgie voice, as befitting a 4-month-old.


Sunday 26th March

Closing Ceremony. Watched my friend Tarks prance around in an Edna suit.

Dad stood next to John Farnham, something of which he was exceedingly proud.

Spent entire time with eye glued to videocam, trying to capture Dad's moment.

Was completely disoriented upon returning to the real world.


Wednesday 29th March

Called up for Jury Duty.

Spent three hours sitting around in an utterly sterile hall, along with about a hundred other random people.

Ended up in jury for a child molestation case. Far from thrilled. Court proceedings are exceedingly boring, and defendant is most likely a pedophile.


Thursday 30th March

Soccer match: SCUC vs. Tyrone & co. Conflicted. Which friend to cheer for?

Conflict resolved - Tyrone the soccer-ponce kicked the ball AT Katie. And then had the audacity to win. Told him he was a tosser. He apologised.


Saturday 1st April

Saw the Lion King at Regent Theatre with Carrie, Julie, Brian & Peter.

Didn't think I'd understand it...
Didn't understand it.

Oh well. At least Julie & Carrie seemed to enjoy the show.


Saturday 8th April

Jules & Cher's wedding.

Bumped into an old primary school friend. He's now a med student/intern.

Mother would be thrilled. Asian aunties would fully approve.

I'm not going to tell her.


Saturday 15th April

Zeke drowned while I was at work.

Buried him that night.

Have now buried two budgies in the space of 4 weeks.

Couldn't go to sleep for crying.

I should have been there to protect him.

I wasn't there.

Life sucks.


Sunday 16th April

Comedy Festival - Tripod show with Karen.

Desperately needed laughs.

Late-night karaoke at Gold Pond. New updated system with songs I can actually sing.

Much revived by making an idiot of myself.

Do not underestimate the power of Aqua and Britney Spears.


Thursday 20th April

Bought PS2 game Dragon Quest: Journey of the Cursed King.

Stayed up until 1am playing. Only went to sleep because drowsy driver caused character death.


Friday 21st April

Counting down the hours till I go home to play.

Will probably be suffering DQ withdrawal symptoms during Youth Group tonight.
