an afternoon at shermer high

Picked up a copy of The Breakfast Club the other day after work.

I can't believe I've never watched it before.

Great movie (despite my inability to take Emilio Estevez seriously, especially when he was dancing around like a bit of a space-case). Didn't think much of the last five minutes of it, but it's definitely one to put on the Favourites list anyway.

High school detention has never looked so interesting.

[insert random scrubs reference here]

The phrase of the day is "teensy snaffu". ^-^

eta beta pi :) total weirdness.

had a weird dream involving dressing up as a skinny little speccy british geek-boy to help a pledged friend (who looked oddly like william worthington) sneak into the frat house at night.

it was like being in some weird mountain chalet complete with plush red carpeting, mahogany panelling and roaring stone fireplaces. and stained glass windows.

freaky.

got busted and, naturally, had to bail. so i was running with Wills through a corridor - ulk. got snagged by the jumper & hauled into a dark room.. where i found myself face-to-face with my ex-boyfriend Graham.

"Gray?"

"Carrot.." (someone doesn't sound happy.)
"What are you doing here?"
"What are YOU doing here?!"
"I asked first."
"I live here. Why are you dressed like an urchin?"
"Don't know. Seemed like a good idea at the time. Are you really a frat boy?"
"I live in a frat house. I think I can safely say the answer is YES."
"Oh, the shame. I dated a frat boy."
"There's nothing wrong with frat boys."
"I can't believe you just said that with a straight face."
"You're right. What was I thinking? Take your clothes off."
"WHAT?! No!"
"They'll be looking for a boy, not you. Here, take a shirt. And get rid of that stupid hat!"
"I like this hat."
"Off."
"How does wearing your shirt make me less conspicuous?"
"Girls sleep over all the time."
"Oh, thank you sooo much. This is going to kill my reputation."
"And, happily, boost mine. Would you rather go out the window?"
"Depends. How far up are we?"

..I wish I could remember what my dream-hat looked like. I got the feeling that I REALLY liked the hat.

It's so sad when dream life is more eventful than the real thing.

and now for a short ad break.

I had a custard cream doughnut from Ferguson Plarre bakehouse.
It was the best thing I ate all day.

I wrote Karen a poem about it, and decided to re-post it here, because I have no life and besides, where else are you supposed to publish your crappy poetry if not on your own blog?

An Ode To FPB Custard Cream Doughnuts.
.. It’s yummy and it’s scrummy
.. full of fluffy doughnut dough
.. with a dollop in the middle
.. of lovely creamy custard-o!

.. It’s sugar-coated niceness
.. wrapped in a handy doughnut size
.. When you open up the paper bag
.. you won’t believe your eyes!

.. It’s a perfect circle doughnut
.. dusted sugar-tasty sweet
.. add a nice fat blop of custard
.. and it’s the bestest ever treat!

Am utterly obsessed with food of late.

a pastel-coloured feathery little bundle of chirp

Now have new baby budgie.

In a break from tradition, this one's a girl.

Called her Harry.

Nat seems to like being a dad. He's gone from Vicious Bully Biter-Bird to Cuddly Preening Feed-The-Baby Protective Dad-Bird.

It's kind of funny to watch.

:: menagerie lion :: imaginary line :: margerine

I've decided that I'm going to buy another budgie today, after work. Life goes on, and Nattie needs someone to talk budgie to, and I miss having my own little feathery chatterhead.

Training it will be a bugger, but I need something cuddly. And chances are, mum will go through the roof if I buy that cute little kitten I spotted in Pets Paradise last week.
